Programmatic GEFF Support Framework: Design and Programming of a Facility Wide Technology Selector

Supporting GEFF Market Readiness is one of three distinct areas of technical cooperation that the EBRD has established in the context of a Programmatic GEFF Support Programme to develop an enhanced set of tools to promote a common implementation approach to GEFFs. 

While other areas of support focus on the scaling-up of GEFFs through standardisation of existing approaches and tools, as well as on integrating resource efficiency into the financing facilities, GEFF Market Readiness thus aims at supporting the initial building of demand and deployment of GEFFs in new markets, demonstrating the business case for financial institutions to develop financing products.

KPC is providing direct technical assistance to EBRD in creating of technology selector tool to be used to foster green economy. 

The development of a Technology Selector, a common technology database which is used across EBRD countries of operations to communicate to the market a set of locally available technologies with high performance and reasonable cost. In each local market, these technologies guarantee a minimum level of energy and carbon savings and support the implementation of green economy principles and SDGs.

Type of Services provided:

• Advisory services and technical assistance granted to EBRD for the design, implementation, maintenance, and further development of the Technology Selector
• Critical analysis of IT and energy-efficiency issues relevant for the design of the Technology Selector
• Marketing and roll-out of the Technology Selector to scale up EBRD’s Green Economy Financing (GEF) Approach across countries of operations
• On-line promotion of sustainable energy and green economy investment examples
• Inclusion of climate change mitigation and adaptation technologies to further enhance the Green Economy Financing Facilities.
