Horizontal Support to Coordination with International Financial institutions (IFIs) and bilateral donors in the Western Balkans
The service contract supported greater coordination and cooperation among the beneficiaries, EC, IFIs and bilateral donors in key socio-economic sectors in the Western Balkans - Transport, Energy, Environment, Social Sector and Private Sector Development - with a particular focus on the Western Balkan Investment Framework.
The overall objective was to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Western Balkans through improved and enhanced coordination of investment policies and support programmes between the IFIs, bilateral donors and the Commission.
A range of services were provided in the following fields: 1) research and analysis, 2) production of policy and strategy discussion papers, 3) management and development of information systems and databases, 4) information exchange, communication and visibility activities including website development and maintenance and 5) various capacity building activities including seminars, workshops and manuals.
KPC provided the Policy and Strategy Coordinator (KE 3), supporting research and analytical activities in the different sectors including cooperation with IFIs and regional sectoral organisations and development of capacity building activities for beneficiaries.
Type of Services provided:
Within the IFI Coordination Office (IFI CO), the Policy and Strategy Coordinator focused on policy and strategy issues in the key sectors of energy, environment, transport, social issues and private sector development.
He provided a range of services including:
- research and analyses
- technical assistance
- communications and administrative support
One of the results were the improved coordination of policy and strategy approaches to socio-economic development across the different WBIF stakeholders, contributing to stimulating growth and the EU accession process and improved communication and information flows among all WBIF stakeholders.
