GGF Green Lending Development in Georgia

KPC was engaged to support the Bank, in particular its Environmental and Social Risk Management Group (ESRM Group), to streamline and considerably enhance the existing green lending operations through the establishment of dedicated Green Lending Guidelines, whose launch was complemented by respective capacity building measures. The scope of the envisaged project considered previous efforts of the institution and the eligibility criteria of the GGF, in order to ensure full harmonization and compliance. 

Type of Services provided:

  • Local Market research and assessment of potential for green lending:
    • Conducted a market assessment, Interviewed Key Stakeholder
    • Conducted an assessment within the Bank`s existing loan portfolios of potential green lending by screening a sample of loan files
  • Development of Green Lending Guidelines:
    • Conducted a staff capacity assessment
    • Made recommendations on responsibilities and required capacity-building measures for the workforce and provided hands- on assistance to the ESRM Group
  • Inception of Green Lending Guidelines:
    • Developed a staff training plan and curriculum
    • Conducted training for the selected staff
    • Developed training materials for new- starters for future on-going trainings to be conducted by Bank`s staff after the completion of the project.
