Management of the Austrian JI/CDM Programme
In 2003 KPC was appointed to manage the Austrian JI/CDM Programme, the official purchasing programme on behalf of the Austrian Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Environment and Water Management. The aim of the Programme is to support Austria in achieving its commitment under the Kyoto Protocol by using JI, CDM and GIS based projects. The Austrian JI/CDM Programme has constantly striven in to establish and improve its portfolio since the Programme's launch and has meanwhile contracted almost 80 sustainable climate mitigation projects.
Under the EU Effort Sharing Directive, Austria has committed itself to reduce its emissions of greenhouse gases by 16% (compared to 2005 levels) during the commitment period from 2013 onwards. Besides Austria's own domestic efforts, this goal may be supported through the portfolio built up by the Austrian JI/CDM Programme. more

Voluntary Climate Protection - Climate Austria
Private initiative is an effective way to protect the climate. Such initiatives considerably contribute to governmental efforts and may achieve remarkable emissions reduction. Under the supervision of the Austrian Ministry of Environment Climate Austria collects and provides financial donations to national and international projects which verifiably reduce emission reductions. By doing so, emissions that may not be avoided directly can be compensated through sustainable climate mitigation projects. more
